Dominic Curcio
Previously, Dominic gained extensive experience as a graduate assistant at the Fashion Archives and Museum of Shippensburg University and through his work with the Catoctin Furnace Historical Society, where he contributed to collections research, exhibit preparation, and public interpretation. His graduate research has also supported National Register of Historic Places nominations, including successful contributions to preservation efforts in Pennsylvania.
He currently serves as Curator for the Thurmont Historical Society, where he oversees collections management, exhibit design, museum operations, staff management, and institutional development. He began working for Thurmont Historical Society in the summer of 2025. So far he has facilitated the implementation of a new digital cataloging systems, the curation of original exhibitions, and overseen the successful grant writing efforts that have secured significant funding for the organization. In addition, he actively conducts community outreach through lectures and public initiatives. Dominic also serves as a contributing researcher and editor for Revolutionary Maryland, a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to uncovering and sharing all things related to Maryland’s experience during the American Revolution.
